ABOUT THE COMPOSER
I can't imagine a world without music, can you? I was born in England's beautiful Lake District in 1943 so was immediately surrounded by the Music of Nature! My mother was a professional singer of Leider, and my father, a lover of poetry, languages, literature and history, so I was brought up in a rich atmosphere of music and books!!.
My life has wound through living in several countries, nursing, school teaching, learning as many ethnic dances as I could, overseas and in Auckland, N.Z. braving the crocodiles in the Solomon Islands, to trade fish hooks and soap for food given by the villagers, for the hospital, and teaching lepers singing, with an old piano accordian!. Motherhood and Granny-hood, have also given me much joy. Out of my partner's death through cancer, grew something else that was lovely - my love of creating music.
Over the years, I have produced children's musicals, plays, etc. and taught school choirs.
I am currently living in Auckland, New Zealand, having spent the last 3 and a half years in UK, teaching in London schools and exploring the beautiful countryside. Dancing In The Moonlight was completed over there, and I had the honour of seeing the Chelsea Ballet Company in London, create a lovely ballet to it. I am now teaching private piano pupils, and allowing musical ideas to arrive for a second 'music for quieter moments' CD.
Dancing In The Moonlight is popular with theraputic massage therapists and their clients, You too will be refreshed and soothed by this lovely music as you enjoy your quiet moments
My strong desire is to bring beautiful music to our children, from their own culture. In this bombardment of "nineties pop" music that is everywhere, I believe children are not developing the essential deep roots with their culture as they grow up, especially European. All cultures, from ancient times, have held music as one of the vital pillars of their own heritage and development.
Our children are developing emotional and physical disorders. Many want to die. The youth suicide rate is rising. Little children are exposed to constant violence.
"Just For Fun!", "Angel Babies" and "Catch A Singing Star" are for thoughtful, sensitive parents, caregivers and teachers to buy for their young children, who want them to experience the innocence of childhood, a little longer than many do today!!
